…Rhonda’s blog about anything and everything…
so, I have my music students, and one of them is a young girl with a very lovely voice, but she struggles with shyness. over the last few months we have really struggled with bringing her out of her shell as she sings, and we have been working to find her vibrant singing voice instead of the mousy falsetto she was hiding behind - today we got it! I let her pick a song she really liked, and we just tried a new exercise for keeping the tension out of her voice as she goes into her higher register, and wam! it was there and it was beautiful. I am so proud of her hard work!
baaaah. I have been getting up at 1:30 every day to sub on someone’s route, and every day the papers arrive later and later. I get here at 2 today, only to find that they haven’t even STARTED printing our papers. so I am off to find me some food. yey.
so, tonight is a relief society (women’s group) activity, with a bunch of the men extolling the virtues of womanhood, mothers, love, etc etc. It’s pretty cute, hearing these normally solemn men talk about why they feel blessed to have their spouses/mothers/daughters in their lives… I am a little jealous of the gals with husbands who get up and sing a love song, though. My husband is too shy to ever do something like that.
baaah, machine at work stole my quarters, gave me no mt dew
dream goes like this - show up to work old high school band director is there, hands everyone an instumrnt and music, berates us all when practically none of us can play it. when music starts, is my alarm clock.
