…oh so crafty…

Anyhow, I’m a lazy bum and don’t feel like finding a mini USB to hook my camera up to my ‘puter, so you don’t get any peektures right now…

But today I’ve been busy. I’ve completed one tree of life wire and bead sculpture pendant, and got another one maybe 1/2 to 2/3 done (had to stop, fingers HURT). I also made a bangle bracelet from pop tabs (I TOTALLY want a zillion tabs so I can make a belly dance belt, and maybe a bra). I’m 2/3 of the way through with a cute workout/yoga shirt I’m sewing, and ready to cut the fabric for matching lounge pants. I’ve got a hot pink circle skirt that I just need to hem and put on a waistband and I can wear it for dancing. I converted a silk dress I found at the thrift store into a fun little thing that can either be a belly dance thing or a ren faire thing - it laces up the bodice and is split all the way in front and to the thigh on the sides. I think it’s made of a sari, since it has a pretty metallic border that edges it all over. I have a light teal ghawazee coat cut out and ready to sew once I finish the workout outfit. Oh, and I sewed a cute (Well, I think it’s cute, my hubs thinks it’s goofy) utility belt/mini apron from the bum of an old and worn out pair of jeans. I’m also picking off the waistband of a vintage ruffly skirt from the 70s - I’m either going to turn it into a pioneer underskirt, a fancy apron, or ruffly legged pants. I also trimmed a dance veil that was way too long, and I need to hem it and then the leftover bit of that veil is going to become a test prop for something my SIL and I want to try.

I think that’s everything I’ve done in the last 2 days.

Oh yeah, and I finished a totally awesome mixed media piece (watercolor, colored pencil, glaze gel pen, and sparkly mineral eyeshadow powder!) on Monday. It’s a fairy asleep on the moon. My very first FINISHED painting since I was in high school, go me! I know it’s not perfect, but I think it looks really great, and it’s just waiting for a frame before I hang it somewhere in the house.

I’m kind of avoiding the knitting right now mostly because last week my windows exploded with disgusting chalky/mildew smelling wetness when our gutters had frozen solid and then we got 3 days of torrential rain, and some of that nasty water got into my craft bin filled with my knit projects. I’m pretty sure everything will be fine, none of the yuk got on my 100% wool yarns, only my works in progress and my odds and ends yarn.
