Yeah, Halloween is coming… I know, I know. You’re probably like my husband, wondering why I’m starting to panic and it’s only halfway thru Septemeber…

Anyhow, Pan has made it absolutely clear that he wants to be a “black knight” aka a dark jedi. Silly boy. So lucky me, I bought the kid’s Simplicity wanna-be Star Wars patterns back when they first came out, before they got pulled from the costume catalog. His outfit is pretty easy, maybe one weekend of sewing.

Tink has also made it abundantly clear that she wants to be Aurora, in the PINK dress. Not blue. PINK. So I have the pattern for that one (purchased before I ever even got pregnant with a girl!), I just have to decide what fabric to sew it out of (and whether or not I want to bother with 3 shades of pink, or just 2).

I think I’ve decided to be Princess Leia. I’ve wanted a Leia costume forever and ever and ever. I’m just trying to decide if I want to be Leia in the “Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope” dress, aka almost the only thing she wears in the whole first movie, aka the Senatorial Gown… Or do I want to be movie poster Leia/Leia at the end of the movie giving out awards/aka the Ceremonial Gown. I can wear cinnamon buns with both dresses, and they both use the same belt. I also have 2 patterns that I can make either dress with. It’s just choosing between the blousy one with big angel-y sleeves and the cool hood, or going with the fitted one with sheer cape sleeve things.

I’ve got no clue about what my husband wants to be, he will probably figure it out 2 days before Halloween. I was thinking maybe I’d make him a Disneyfied “king” tunic so he could be Aurora’s daddy, and then he could just wear it with slacks and a crown.
