…Rhonda’s blog about anything and everything…
SO My husband has been gone since Tuesday, on a business trip to Chicago. I have pretty much missed him since the second he got on the plane, but it took the kids a little while longer to notice that he was really, seriously gone.
Poor Tink has come down with a nasty infection of some sort - fever, runny nose, sore head, the ususal. She was doing OK until last night, and then she had a lovely raging fever of 103 and could not get back to sleep on her own. She kept asking for her “da da da,” but of course, he wasn’t there.
So I took her back to bed with me, hoping that her daddy’s blanket might comfort the poor thing - and it did, a little bit. She finally fell asleep, on her elbows and knees, like a kitten. She slept with her head buried in her daddy’s blanket and pillow, and with her behind pressed smack dab against me (and somehow one tiny baby took up 75% of the bed!). That part wasn’t too bad, since I’d been lonely, and having her there was a little comfortable. But that stupid fever just kept waking her up every hour or so, and she’s whimper and go “dadadada” in a sad little voice…
Thank heavens he’s home tomorrow. Church is going to be abysmal, without Matt to help me juggle 2 antsy kids.
