An account of my adventure this morning - don’t read if you don’t want to hear about surgery on lady bits…

So today I finally was able to meet with the doc to have these weird bits of stuff removed from my vayjay…

Justso you know, I had a perfectly lovely vayjay until my son, and then Istarted seeing these little skin taggy like growths down there. Yurk. But they didn’t hurt or anything, so I figured it was just part ofhaving a baby. After baby #2, they got bigger and bigger and started tohurt. One was huge and stuck out and got in the way of everything -intercourse, going to the bathroom (wiping especially), sitting down injeans, it was just irritating.

So a week ago I finallycomplained to my midwives - they took a look, to see if they could justremove the big one in the office, but it was too big, and vascular(apparently it had its own blood supply, wonderful.) - yesterday was myappointment to have it removed, quick snip snip in and out visit… Thedoc takes a look down there and tells me there is no way she can removeit in the time they had me scheduled for. It had hooked itself aroundsome muscles, and it would need stitches. Lots of stitches.

So Ischeduled an appointment for a week out, since that’s all they had.Poo. I wanted this over, out, and ready to heal. Then they called melast night, around 5:30 - they’d had a cancellation! Woo! So thismorning at 9 am, we headed ourselves to the hospital.

It was solovely - because of where the growths were, the doc needed a nurse -first to hold a speculum in sideways while she removed the big one, andthen to hold me open while she removed the little ones. How dignified. So I brought my Palm along, and busied myself with a hangman game. Theyhad to give me numby shots, and holy cow, they hurt so bad I had tostop playing, because my hands were shaking so much I couldn’t tap onthe screen of my game. Once it kicked in, though, it was fine (untilpartway through, it started to run out, and I could feel that needlehurting - yowieowieow! So they jabbed me again. Yeesh!).

Aftershe finished up, she rinsed and blotted everything (this is maybe adozen stitches all around my poor bruised vay jay…) - and I startedbleeding. Stupid blood vessel and smooshy tissue. So she had to go backand re-suture everything! I’m waddling around with more than 20stitches in my poor little lady bits. Right now I’ve got a fluffy pillow on my chair.

Atone point, I felt like a sock she was darning. And yes, I could feelher pulling the suture thread through my flesh the whole time - itdidn’t hurt, but it was very unnerving.

Oh, and my period started this morning, just before the surgery. What joy.

Now I have to wait 10 days for the stitches to dissolve - no nothing happening down there until then.
